Drawn to Nursing

I was drawn to nursing before I even knew I was drawn to it. When I was 13
my brother passed away after being hit by a drunk driver. While I waited by
his side during those eight days’ I wanted to help him; and realized I
couldn’t but those who did...the nurses, and the doctors!!! The nurses,
however, kept us informed and helped out family and friends in addition to
my brother. I realized I wanted to be a nurse through that experience.
My goals and aspirations include the fact that I want to become a Nurse
Practitioner. In order to achieve my goal I need to go to school for the
education required to become a Nurse Practitioner. My previous goal was to
get my Bachelor’s degree which I received in the Spring of 2008. I worked
full time and went to school full time in order to achieve my goals.
My future plans are that I would like to work with a physician, who will
continue to teach me and encourage further educational growth. As well as to
try to encourage younger people to reach for their own educational goals,
perhaps in the medical profession.
